Halloween as a Ghost type
Pokémon has a whole type made for October. Gengar is the obvious one, and our Gengar and Jigglypuff onesie costume covers it without much effort. A Gengar fan who already owns the costume might want something from Gengar plush toys to carry around the party. Mimikyu is the cleverer choice. In the games it hides under a rag made to look like Pikachu, because it wants to be loved the way Pikachu is, so a Mimikyu costume gets a smile from anyone who knows the story.
Then there are the inflatables. Pikachu, Squirtle and Charizard come as blow-up suits kept puffed up by a small battery-powered fan, and they're the costumes people stop to photograph at a party. The inflatable Charizard sits at the top of the range, at £96.90.
World Book Day as Ash or Misty
World Book Day asks children to come as a character from a book, and Pokémon counts: there are manga volumes and chapter books for every age. Ash Ketchum is the easiest Trainer to recognise and our best-selling costume, with the jacket, cap and gloves. One version comes bundled with a giant Pikachu plush, which saves explaining who your child is meant to be. Pokémon plush of all sizes are in Pokémon plush toys.
Misty, the Water-type gym leader who travelled with Ash, has a cosplay costume of her own, which makes a good pairing for siblings or best friends.
Team Rocket and adult cosplay
Jessie and James are sold separately, so a couple can go as the pair, and the third member, Meowth, can be anyone willing to wear cat ears. For adults there's also a Pokémon Trainer costume, a women's Pikachu costume and a Pikachu dress. Cosplayers who like the small details can add the Hoenn region badges, the eight badges a Trainer earns from the gyms of Hoenn.
Costumes in five minutes
Not everyone wants a full outfit, and a school non-uniform day rarely calls for one. A Pikachu headband, a plush cosplay hat, the blue Poké Ball cloak or the Pikachu hooded cape will turn everyday clothes into a costume. Carry a toy from Pokémon Poké Balls and the look is finished. For a party with lots of children, the mask sets mean everyone gets to be a different Pokémon. More ideas for the party itself are in Pokémon party & gifts.
Something for the dog
Yes, really. There's an Eevee costume for dogs, so the family pet can join in the Halloween photo.
Sizes and when to order
Adult costumes mostly run from S to XL, with some in XXL or 3XL. Children's sizes are given by age or height, from Age 4-5 up to Age 14+ on some designs, and the inflatable Pikachu suits heights between 120 and 150cm. Check the size chart on the product page, especially for costumes that go over clothes.
Leave enough time. Delivery is tracked across the UK and takes 8 to 10 working days, so order at least two weeks before Halloween, World Book Day or the party. Onesie costumes double as loungewear afterwards; see Pokémon onesies. Trainer caps are in Pokémon caps, and the rest of our clothing is in Pokémon clothing.
